The community conducts extensive activities to deepen social ties, learning and Jewish and human content. Torah lessons given every Shabbat and during the week and month, kiddushim that take place after Shabbat morning prayer, Hassidic activities for the community children, content events around Israeli holidays and other social activities - are all part of the community fabric with the unique spirit and social diversity in the "Veani Tefila" community.
The community, which was founded under the leadership of Rabbi Raz Hartman, is now led by Rabbi Aharon Leibowitz and alongside him Rabbi in Internship' Aluma Florsheim-Dor.
Along with the rabbis, community volunteers help with the prayers, lessons and community activities. These operate through volunteer committees such as organization and sustainability, children, content, synagogue committees, and more. As can be seen in detail by clicking here .
The core activity of "Veani Tefila" is centered around Shabbat and holiday prayers - prayers that include a unique variety of melodies that bring depth and transcendence.
The synagogue serves as a religious center and spiritual home for members of the community and during the year thousands of guests join us to pray in the synagogue, making it one of the most popular synagogues in Jerusalem.
The prayer in “Veani Tefila” is exceptional in its loyalty to tradition along with a commitment to cherish every voice present. Thus, for example, the communal priority is that women's participation be made significant in the communal public in a variety of ways in accordance with traditional Jewish Halacha. In addition, the community welcomes all guests and is open to everyone. The variety of worshipers side by side every Shabbat, including religious and secular, Reform, modern and ultra-Orthodox Jews - helps to strengthen the unity of the Jewish people.
The "Veani Tefila" community is one of the most vibrant communities in the beating heart of Jerusalem. The community, established in 2005 in the Nachlaot neighborhood, quickly developed into a unique space that blends holiness and transcendence with joy and spontaneity, while appreciating the connection and expression of each and evry men and women.
The warm and unique community has become a magnet for a wide range of young families, students, professionals and children. Today there are about 200 families in the community, young men and women. join us here.
In addition to the many Israelis who are members of the community, our warmth and authenticity have promoted "And I Prayer" to be a popular choice among immigrant Israelis, including many friends from North America. Thus, having left behind relatives and friends, the "And I Prayer" community is for them an extended family, especially on Saturdays, holidays and important life cycle events.
In 2011, the members founded the organization "Veani Tefila - Nachlaot Jerusalem (NGO)" as a tool for the continued growth of its activities.
